This secure and private four-bedroom home has been designed to be the ideal place for children to play and grow their independence.
Overlooking a nearby lake featuring ducks and other wildlife, the Cubby House has everything your child could want during their respite stay.
Cubby House is a healing space without consultation rooms, treatments or lessons to teach. It is a space for families to recuperate and a place for children just to play.

Cubby House respite care facilities
Supported 24 hours a day by our experienced team, children with disability can enjoy a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities and play equipment.
The backyard is wheelchair-friendly with ramp access from the house down to the yard and pathways connecting all the fun outdoor areas together for easy access.
Little visitors can feed the chickens and ducks in the morning beside the lake behind the property. They might even enjoy a visit from the horses too!
The Cubby House’s large backyard features a sand pit, an enclosed springless trampoline, arts and crafts shed and underwater-themed play pod with ball pit. There’s even a vegetable garden for those who like to get their hands dirty!
If your little one is a sports lover, there is a large outdoor turfed area and goal posts for playing soccer while protected by the shade of the trees.
On a Saturday, we host Cubby Club where children with disability can enjoy music therapy with a professional music therapist and a different activity every week ranging from sensory play to water play plus special guests such as Queensland Fire and Rescue and Queensland Police.
Evenings are usually spent enjoying a freshly prepared dinner on the veranda while watching the animals settle down for the night.
The house features one downstairs bedroom with an adjustable bed for those who require mobility assistance and three upstairs bedrooms.
Downstairs you will also find a fully stocked kitchen with childproof locks on every door and the fridge, plus an air-conditioned media room with happy memories painted all over the walls!
About Cubby House respite care
Respite care at Cubby House is like a home away from home for children with disability. It also provides time for carers and parents to take a break from their duties while knowing their loved one is safe and sound. By providing a supportive and fun space for children with disability to have fun and get creative, they have the chance to develop their independence, learn new skills and make friends along the way.
Uniquely designed to cater for a range of disabilities including autism (ASD), intellectual disability, mental health, physical disability and complex needs, our respite care locations are Disability Approved for both respite and emergency respite and operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Our qualified and friendly staff are there fulltime to provide support with daily routines, organise activities and help develop new skills. Depending on the length of your stay, we can even arrange to go out to local recreational and social events like the movies, lunch or playgrounds.
