Tea-cup Cottage was founded by Alexandra Shaw in 2010 after her personal experience of caring for a family member with disability. Alex had a dream to build a close-knit team of caring and professional staff who never compromise on quality of care and always put their best foot forward.
From humble beginnings with a single home for children to visit, play and stay, Tea-cup Cottage has expanded to offer a comprehensive range of disability support services including in-home care, supported independent living, day services, specialist disability accommodation and NDIS plan management and support coordination through Disability Plan Services.
To this day, the team at Tea-cup Cottage still follow the same caring and person-centred philosophy that Alex introduced to the disability sector. We are 100% focused on delivering the best possible care solutions by listening and hearing to what people not only need from their disability support but desire for a better and more fulfilling life.
What our community says
I just wanted to comment on the positive change we are seeing in Siobhan. It is clear she has a good relationship with at least one of the carers, Jenny, and she is getting out of bed, even yesterday when it was so cold. She is attentive and alert and interacting with people in a way we have not seen for some months. All credit to Teacup and your staff.
I didn’t realise how a little break from our family could make Sam so happy. It wasn’t just respite for us but a little holiday for him and we are all so grateful for Teacup Cottage.
- Jo Striver
To the Tea-cup team, you are all heroes in my book for taking such good care of my son, Michael. He loves going for his weekend breaks and he is so happy when he comes home to us each Monday.
