With Tea-cup Events, there’s always something on the calendar – live sport, theme parks, shows, day trips and nights out.

We do the things young adults actually want to do, out in the community, with the right support alongside them – building confidence, friendships and independence along the way.

How Funding Typically Works

Many Tea-cup Events, especially getaways, can often be funded through:

Short-Term Respite (part of Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life), where the trip is about respite and support needs, not just a holiday
Other flexible Core supports, if the event clearly relates to your NDIS goals and is considered reasonable and necessary

Your funding may cover things like support worker time, part of your accommodation, and some meals or activities as part of your support. There can also be out-of-pocket costs — things like tickets, optional extras or spending money.

Because every plan is different, and NDIS rules do change, it’s best to check with your Support Coordinator, Plan Manager, or guardians about what’s right for you.

training in personal care, medication support and budgeting
a focus on safety, inclusion and having a genuinely good time

Before your first event, we’ll get to know your support needs, preferences and goals so you can feel relaxed and ready to enjoy yourself.

Most events are designed for young adults aged 18–35 who:

are keen to build confidence and social skills
like the idea of doing big-ticket experiences with support

How do I know if I have enough STA funding for an event?

You can check through the NDIS portal, or contact your plan manager, support coordinator, or LAC.

What if I don’t have STA funding in my NDIS plan?

You may be able to use some flexible Core funding to access STA, if it aligns with your NDIS goals.

If you’d like to have STA added to your plan, discuss it with your Support Coordinator and representatives – especially if you have a plan review coming up.

Can I bring anyone with me?

When you travel with Tea-cup Events you can feel confident knowing you’re supported by our experienced team, with low ratios to ensure everyone gets the support they need to make the most of their time away. We pride ourselves on offering a service ‘created by young people, for young people’, and our team is energetic, fun, and focused on the things young adults want to do!

As an STA service provider, our trips offer an opportunity for you to spend time away from your regular carers. So leave your family at home, pack your bags and join us for an adventure!
