Wheelchair-friendly both inside and out, guests of all abilities can enjoy the beautiful backyard garden and cosy indoor living area.

Potter’s Nest respite care facilities

Situated close to the tranquil bayside setting of Wellington Point, this private retreat is in a perfect position to enjoy days out at the beach, lunching by the seaside and soaking in the stunning water views.

With the support of friendly and understanding staff, guests at Potter’s Nest can enjoy the wide range of activities and spaces available both indoors and outside.

The fully stocked kitchen is very popular with both guests and staff, often found cooking up a storm using the vegetables and herbs planted in the backyard garden or baking some tasty treats.

The living area is perfect for those who want to relax on the couch and watch a movie, read a book, play with one of the many puzzles and boardgames or simply have a chat.

Each private bedroom is light-filled and airy, all well-decorated and featuring comfortable beds and TVs. For those requiring mobility assistance, the bedroom closest to the kitchen has an adjustable bed.

Outside, the sheltered deck features ramp access to the garden where guests can enjoy potting, planting and tending to the edible garden. Outside you’ll also find some of our favourite plants and flowers hanging beautifully in hand-painted pots.

Potter’s Nest is the perfect spot for guests to enjoy the wide range of organised activities available every day, which includes anything from arts and crafts to cooking lessons using our freshly picked garden ingredients.

About Potter’s Nest respite care

Respite care at Potter’s Nest is like a home away from home for adults with disability. It also provides time for carers to take a break from their duties while knowing their friend or loved one is safe and sound. By providing a supportive and comfortable space for adults with disability to relax, they have the chance to develop their independence, learn new skills and make friends along the way.

Uniquely designed to cater for a range of disabilities including autism (ASD), intellectual disability, mental health, physical disability and complex needs, our respite care locations are Disability Approved for both respite and emergency respite and operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our qualified and friendly staff are there fulltime to provide support with daily routines, organise activities and help develop new skills. Depending on the length of your stay, we can even arrange to go out to local recreational and social events like the movies, lunch or parks.

The lengths of respite stays at Potter’s Nest can vary anywhere between one night to two weeks or more.
