The Tea-cup Cottage: Disability Support Services

Short-term accommodation

Short-term accommodation, formerly known as respite, offers a chance for carers to take a short break from their daily caring duties to relax and recharge.

This type of accommodation also offers an opportunity for children and adults with disability to spend some time away from their usual routine, to have some fun and make like-minded friends.

Our three locations offer unique spaces designed for playing, learning and relaxing, and are Disability Approved for short to long-term stays and emergency short-term accommodation.

Whether you care for a child with an intellectual, mental or physical disability, or you’re an adult with a disability or complex medical needs looking for a short getaway, short-term accommodation with Tea-cup Cottage has the perfect home away from home for you.

All of our short-term accommodation locations are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week and are wheelchair friendly.

About Tea-cup Cottage short-term accommodation homes

Short-term accommodation at one of Tea-cup Cottage’s three bayside locations is like a home away from home for both children and adults with disability. What our community says

What our community says

I just wanted to comment on the positive change we are seeing in Siobhan. It is clear she has a good relationship with at least one of the carers, Jenny, and she is getting out of bed, even yesterday when it was so cold. She is attentive and alert and interacting with people in a way we have not seen for some months. All credit to Tea-Cup and your staff.

I didn’t realise how a little break from our family could make Sam so happy. It wasn’t just short-term accommodation for us but a little holiday for him and we are all so grateful for Tea-cup Cottage.

- Jo

To the Tea-Cup team, you are all heroes in my book for taking such good care of my son, Michael. He loves going for his weekend breaks and he is so happy when he comes home to us each Monday.
